Broadband use and trade facilitation: Impacts on bilateral trade of sub‐Saharan countries

This paper investigates the direct and combined impacts of trade facilitation information communication technology (ICT) on bilateral flows 25 sub-Saharan countries. For that purpose, we select time to export import as specific indicators broadband use study ICT impacts. Our sample covers a total 93 countries over period 2004–2018. By preprocessing data analysis, impute costs missing values, an essential shortcoming available databases, time. Lastly, employ gravity model implement Bonus Vetus Estimation. results show exerts positive significant effect trade, especially relevant for intra-African flows. Furthermore, effects indicate also modulates negative in case intra-SSA countries' trade. The more result is found export. confirm are not only particularly harmful but negatively impact from SSA rest world. These outcomes importance coordinating digital transformation policies, those devoted digitally transforming African customs.
